NB1994 No this will NOT encourage China to do anything, the opposite. It shows up how vastly superior the US is militarily over China.
China has tried to develop some influence in Venezuela but has no military presence anywhere near it. The nearest and only military base outside of China is in Djibouti. And China’s aircraft carriers can’t travel further than the southern Phillipinese.
Russia and China don’t have any ships anywhere near or airbases or sea bases. In both cases the nearest air base is over 10,000 km away. For China it’s Djibouti, a small base for helicopters etc. For Russia it’s Engels base in Russia.

- Nearest Chinese airbase to Venezuela (very small) in Djibouti
- Distance measurement: 11,120.69 km from Djibouti to Venezuela
- Nearest Russian airbase is about the same distance
- Russia has no aircraft carriers
- Chinese aircraft carriers have never got further than Southern Indonesia
- US has many aircraft carriers at sea at any time and hundreds of bases all around the world.
So why would that encourage China to attack Taiwan?
It wouldn’t.
And the US is not distracted by this strike. It’s a minute fraction of the total US military was involved and was more than a match for all of Venezuala. Makes no difference to its presence in the Pacific ocean and near China.
Tthere is no way that China really attacks Taiwan.
It has lots of reasons to do exercises and displays around Taiwan. But it doesn’t have any capability to actually invade Taiwan and it knows that.
Taiwan has missiles that could easily defend against an actual attack, of course it doesn’t use them against military exercises.
China would need far more soldiers and far more ships for an actual attack. It doesn’t have them. It would need 2 million soldiers at 200 to a boat in 10,000 boats. It can’t fit 2 million soldiers into its warships so it would need to use lots of civilian boats and not deep ocean going ones, roll on / roll off ferries for instance. It could only do it when the weather is favorable in the Taiwan strait.
And even then - Taiwan has been preparing for decades and is far far advanced over Ukraine. And the Russian Black Sea Fleet can’t get anywhere near the Ukrainian shores any more even though Ukrainedoesn’t even have a navy.
Taiwan is far more capable. It has cruise and ballistic missiles that can even reach across the strait and deep into China.
The more reliable the source the clearer that China would never do this in reality.

And Russia wouldn’t get involved. Not that it could change the situation if it did.
