It’s not a surprise. The next president can rejoin all of them. When the US withdraws from these organizations it loses its ability to express its views in any of them.
As an example, it is far easier to get a consensus in the COPs with the US withdrawn. Trump had the option to stay in the Paris agreement and just veto the conclusions of the COPs as they all have to be by unanimous decision.
Instead he chose to leave the Paris agreement which leaves the rest of the world free to continue with strong measures to protect from global warming.
Meanwhile many states and organizations in the USA including California are already committed to net zero.
Others like Texas are shifting to renewables because it makes economic sense.
Meanwhile Trump is betting on the wrong horse.,
For instance his action in Venezuela seems to be motivated by the oil, but the oil fields in Venezuela can’t be developed fully in less than 5 years. By then the world is going to have a glut of oil and it will be of far less value than it is now, they will have to reduce output to sell it at a reasonable price.
BLOG: Trump’s presidency will have only the minutest effects on global warming
— indeed he is betting on the wrong horse on fracking with the world AND the USA moving increasingly towards renewables
