When you first visit the page there may be lots of posts stuck to the top of the page. You can tell by the distinctive red pin.
- as soon as you click through to each post they are unstickied.
They may be quite hard to find after you’ve read them as they could have been posted long ago.
- if you read a sticked conversation and want to come back to it, bookmark it or take a note of the URL.
And - at times there may be lots of stickies.
There is no way to just dismiss them without reading them sadly. But just click through to each one and then they will all be gone.
This is a very useful feature for us.
- Often we get many people scared of the same thing coming to the group and asking the same question without noticing that the question was already asked a few hours earlier by someone else.
- Now we can sticky the debunk or the conversation with the best debunks.
Sadly
- Everyone will have to click through to the new stickied debunk each time to unsticky it.
But any click through and it counts as reading it and do that for each one and they’re all unstickied.
Only admins or mods can sticky conversations or posts so
- if you want something sticked contact Support by starting a private discussion and then choosing Support as the recipient.
We can also do a
- “tag sticky” which is only sticky for if you click on a particular tag, e.g. Ukraine, or
- super sticky - a super sticky can’t be dismissed - best used for things that everyone needs to be able to keep referring to.
However rather than a supersticky - it’s more likely we’d add extra items to the side panel or bottom panel or some such.
So far we’ve not used a supersticky. I have thought of doing a “welcome” superstick to welcome to this forum linking to everything else but that may not be necessary.
If the sticky was to do with using the forum you can likely find it underForum Info
Be sure to contact Support if you need help for anything.
