Yes I agree it is dehumanizing and potentially racist. The report idea isn’t new, anyone can already report undocumented immigrants to ICE in the USA, and often do and sometimes people do file false reports. The ICE field offices are supposed to filter out false and nuisance reports.
If anyone here is an undocumented immigrant be sure you know your rights such as right to remain silent and not to allow anyone into your house without a proper warrant etc.
If you are a US citizen or green card holder and there’s any risk you might be misidentified as an undocumented immigrant - then though you are NOT required to do this it is sensible to avoid problems to have your papers with you and show them right away in any situation where you may be asked about your residence status (unless you want to make a point).
I agree it is deliberately playing on science fiction thrillers that depict hypothetical extraterrestrials in very negative ways to then transfer that negativity to undocumented immigrants. Which is dehumanizing.
Also racist given that ICE is far more likely to arrest people with higher levels of pigment in their skin as undocumented immigrants.
It’s also antipathic to aliens too whatever you call that. Prejudiced against inteligence species from another planet.

So can it be challenged legally?
The US has such strong protection for freedom of speech, is this seen as protected free speech in the USA? I can’t find any suggestion of legal challenges but it’s quite recent. I can’t answer this from things I found out earlier.
It seems to be intended to appeal to the far right and wonder if this is to do with Trump’s mid terms election campaign? If it is then it’s unlikely to help.
Republicans will have difficulty getting some Latino Republicans to get out and vote for them as it is, as many regret voting for Trump. So Latinos and the undecideds seem to be a key group of potential voters for the Republican campaign, for instance especially in Texas.
This doens’t seem a likely vote winner for them.
And in the US generally 50% of the population want to abolish ICE now - a poll from March. That includes 23% of Republicans.

Longer term then all this can be reversed on Jan 20, 2029 depending on who the American people vote in for the next president.
Apart from that it could be challenged in the courts. I don’t know what other options there are.
So - the main thing is that it seems likely to backfire on the Republicans. It might also lead to opposition from Republican legislators too especially those from districts with lots of Latino voters.
